Last year, Exodus Family Ministries served nearly 4,500 unique individuals – many of them repeatedly. This feat could only have happened through the work and generosity of volunteers like you. If your company, school, church, service organization, or family is looking to give back to the community or get service hours, consider volunteering with us. (We are also looking for individuals who are interested in becoming regular volunteers.)
We have opportunities throughout the week and on Saturdays. Some projects might include:
- Unloading food and stocking the shelves in our pantry
- Sorting and hanging clothes in our clothes closet in preparation for a clothes distribution day
- Assisting with laundry, serving meals or packing hygiene care kits for our unhoused neighbors at our resource center
- Packing and/or handing out food boxes during our Saturday morning food distribution day
- Delivering food boxes to those who are homebound, disabled, or without transportation (we encourage teams of two people)
- Preparing a meal for our Monday night Bible study for those who may be unsheltered or in recovery centers (40-50 people)
- Helping with holiday parties for the nursing homes where we hold weekly Bible studies (can help in person or send in baked goods or care items for the seniors)
- Helping with other projects as needed from time to time (cleaning our facilities, painting, planting flowers, maintenance issues, etc.)
Just let us know how many people you are expecting, what day/time works best for your group, the ages of people involved (anyone under 16 should have supervision of adult), and we will work with you to find a worthy project for your group.
Or, if you would prefer to coordinate a service project at your location to benefit Exodus and our clients, consider:
- Organizing collection boxes for: shelf-stable, non-perishable food items, seasonal clothing, hygiene items, or paper products – such as napkins, paper plates (no styrofoam, please), etc.
- Assembling hygiene kits or snack bags for the unhoused (consisting of various individually wrapped snacks)
- Collecting small flea market items that we can sell in our White Elephant booth. Proceeds help purchase additional food for our pantry.
