Exodus Family Ministries needs your support during Give for Good Louisville Day on Thursday, September 18, 2025, midnight-11:59pm.
It’s time for Louisville’s largest day of giving! More than 500 nonprofits will be vying for your attention and support. We hope when you sign on to donate, you’ll remember Exodus Family Ministries!
Ways you can support us:
- Become a Champion – as someone who believes in our mission, you’ll make a great spokesperson for us. Just share a sentence or two about why you’re involved with our organization and ask your connections to join you in donating. While posting a link to our donation page on all your social media accounts helps, the best way to get support is through personalized emails, texts, and calls directly asking your family, friends, co-workers, vendors, clients, neighbors, etc. to give (see below for a sample message). Provide a matching donation – Donors love knowing that their funds can go further because they will be matched by another gift. If your company, service organization, or family wants to make a significant impact, like our friends at Shirley’s Way, who have pledged $10,000 in matching funds, consider making an early commitment that we can then leverage to encourage additional donations. (Contact us to discuss details.)- Extend a challenge – A little friendly competition adds to the fun of the day, so consider challenging your family members, rival schools, departments within your company, etc. to make donations to see who can raise the most money for our cause. Bragging rights and an interesting, inexpensive prize go a long way in making this this challenge memorable!
- Give a gift yourself – Even if you don’t become a champion who asks others for funding, we need you to donate to our page. Every gift helps! When people sign on to our page and see that our organization has strong support already, it gives them confidence that they are joining a winning team. By making your gift early in the day, you also help set the bar for later gifts, as people can see your commitment level and will want to match it. Every gift, no matter the amount, though, will help us raise additional dollars because there are special prizes from Give for Good sponsors that are awarded to organizations as bonuses.
- Raise awareness – While we hope that everyone can make a donation of at least $10 during the event, even if you can’t, you can show your support by posting about our organization on your social media or by sending messages to your contacts. The number one reason people give to a cause is “because they were asked.” Post videos or photos for extra attention, if you have them. - Participate in the #WhyIGive challenge – Go to the #WhyIGive survey and enter one reason why you support Exodus Family Ministries. Several entries will be randomly selected to win $100 gifts for the organization they support. (We’ve won this award in the past!)

NOTE:
While this online event has a Louisville focus, it is open (and encouraged) that people from across the state and country make donations. Please take a moment to create a personalized fundraising page, then share that link in your social media and in emails and texts to colleagues, friends, family, etc. no matter where they live.
Exodus’ goal is to raise $20,000 during Give for Good. Please help us make it happen by reaching out to the contacts in your phone, computer, and/or social media and asking for their support.
Bonus tips:
1) Personalize your asks – take the sample text below and make it your own. When you share why we’re important to you, your friends and family will want to support your efforts. They give because of their connection to YOU. It will then be our job to develop a connection to them that keeps them coming back as donors in the future.
2) Ask directly – while making blanket asks for support on social media helps to raise AWARENESS, a direct ask for a specific amount (face to face or via a direct text or customized email that includes the link to your individual Give for Good Louisville fundraising page) raises FUNDS.
