Now that summertime is upon us and temperatures are climbing into the 90s, our unsheltered clients are facing different kinds of weather-related issues. Instead of hypothermia (caused by freezing temperatures), those living on the streets risk dehydration and hyperthermia, where their body temperatures become dangerously high.
Please help us as we look out for our neighbors this summer by donating cases of water, coolers, sunscreen, and bug spray. You can drop off supplies at the resource center at the back of 4205 Cane Run Road (enter the campus off of Hartlage Ct). Monday-Friday 11am-3pm, or at the pantry (6501 Bethany Lane) in the donation bin anytime.
“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” Proverbs 11:25
I just want to say thank you. I was homeless and had no food someone told me about the food distribution and I got a ride there. If not for y’all I wouldn’t have had food. I no longer live in a tent thanks to ppl in the area having love and compassion. Because of medical issues I can’t work. But if I get low in food I come by and get food from the food drive. I’m hoping soon after my surgery I can then volunteer there to help others.
Martha – So glad that you were connected to our pantry and that we were able to help. We’d love whatever volunteer support you can provide because it certainly takes a lot of folks to keep this service going. We appreciate your interest in helping!
